What I'm Wearing Wednesday

Hi there, friends! Happy middle of the week! I am SO ready for some spring weather. This post is scheduled because Corey, Riley, and I are in Florida visiting with his parents. All my spring clothes were still in storage under the bed so I pulled them out to pack while it was snowing outside. Ugh. Hopefully I'll remember to take some OOTD posts while I'm gone and will have some photos of my bright, Lilly instead of dull black. This is the time of year when I start feeling totally uninspired with my wardrobe.
Corey and I had a date night on Saturday. This is what I wore and it is my go-to winter outfit when I don't know what to wear out. Nice, dark jeans, a black top, heels or wedges, and a statement necklace.
Denim: J. Crew  Tee: J. Crew Wedges: Tory Burch Sophie  Necklace: Loft

I love neutrals, too. I paired this top with fun leopard flats to add a little personality.
Denim: J. Crew  Tee: J. Crew  Flats: Target  Necklace: Loft

I wore this chevron top out for a girls' night recently.
Blouse: Modcloth  Denim: J. Crew  Flats: Tory Burch  Necklace: Loft

I just love Loft's statement necklaces. They have a ton of cute ones out right now and all were on sale yesterday when I was writing this post. I especially love this one:

I am wearing Essie's Madison Ave-Hue on my nails. It is one of the new Spring 2013 shades and I love it. It is a bright, perfect for spring pink with just a hint of sparkle. Run - do not walk - to Ulta to pick up this shade.

Happy Wednesday girls! What are you wearing? Link up your own OOTD posts below. xo

Keds for Kate Spade

Happy Monday, girls! I hope you all had a great weekend! Corey and I did and I'm even handling the snow flurries coming down in Hoboken right now pretty well - but only because we are headed to Florida tomorrow night.

When I was a little girl,  I loved Keds. I always loved getting a brand new white pair and trying to keep them perfectly white for as long as possible. What my sister-in-law recalls about wearing Keds as a little girl was walking on her toes for days to try to prevent that inevitable crease at the toe.

I have to admit I wasn't sad when Keds went out of style. No more worries about keeping them from getting dirty or preventing the toe crease. I have to say I was surprised when I read that they were coming back into style, especially since that toe crease hasn't crossed my mind in about fifteen years. And even more surprised when I read Kate Spade was putting out a line of Keds.

I have to admit, though,  the fun patterns are appealing. My favorite pair are these adorable polka dot Keds.

I just love polka dots. I've seen these styled with dresses, skirts, jeans, capris. Pretty much everything. I guess Keds are pretty versatile and these would be so easy to wear to work.

I also think this gingham pair is pretty cute. Am I totally sold? No. You won't find me running off to my local Kate Spade store to purchase a pair of Keds this week. I am intrigued though. I'm really interested to see where the trend goes. What are your thoughts of the new Kate Spade x Keds line?

What I'm Wearing Wednesday v.3

Happy Wednesday, friends! I hate to admit that I don't have many super wonderful outfits for you today. Lots of great repeats though. It seems that I am "over" cold weather and am just not being creative with my wardrobe lately. I just go to my favorite looks and head out the door. I'm going to share them anyway, though, because they are some of my favorites.
I'm loving mint with coral lately.

Hitched: Reception Decor

Hi lovelies! Today, I wanted to continue on with the Hitched series and share some photos of our reception decor. I have to say our reception turned out beautifully and just the way I dreamed. This is thanks to Cortenay of Carolina Wedding Design. Brides to be in the Charlotte area - HIRE HER! Not only will she turn your best ideas into a reality, but if something goes wrong you won't even know about it. Our reception was held in the ballroom at Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte. My colors were blush pink and gold and we were going for a "swanky, Southern, sophisticated" feel.
We had a sneak peek of the ballroom after our newlywed photo shoot.

It was so gorgeous. Thank you times a million, Cortenay.

We had a cocktail hour downstairs in the atrium and on the patio. Our guestbook was moved there for anyone who hadn't signed yet and was displayed on a table with some of our engagement and favorite photos.
Including photos of each of our parents on their wedding days. Corey's parents are in the frame on the left and mine on the right.
This is our seating chart. The gorgeous gold frame was borrowed from Cortenay.

The gorgeous ballroom upstairs. It was like my dream coming to life.

Mr. & Mrs. chairs

Centerpieces. Inspired by Pinterest of course. I love hydrangeas because they give a lush, full look but aren't too expensive.

Place setting. Our calligrapher added each guests' name to their menu card, so it served as both a menu and a place card.

I made coloring books for the kids' table and added a little gold baggie of crayons.

Table decor

Table numbers. Cortenay designed them and I hunted down 20 inexpensive champagne frames.

We mixed these gorgeous square arrangements in with the taller lush centerpieces at our long head table.

The head table. I love the blush linen peaking out from under the champagne one. We sat bridal party and their dates with us. Don't you hate when you're the date of someone in the bridal party and have to sit away from your date?

 The cookie buffet.

These were the centerpieces on the cocktail tables.

Our cake. I love the floral cake stand and the cake. I was nervous when I finally committed to the pearl design but I have to say I ended up LOVING it.

Have a great Tuesday, girls! Don't forget to document those OOTD's and join Kerri and I tomorrow for What I'm Wearing Wednesday!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Riley!

Happy Friday, lovelies! Today is a special Friday in our household because our sweet Riley Thomas is three. I really don't know how that happened! It seems like it was just yesterday that I brought him home to live with us. I say "I" brought him home because Corey had repeatedly said, "don't get that dog. Do not get that dog." What can I say - sometimes its better to ask for forgiveness than permission. ;)

I always spoil him rotten on his birthday. I woke up early to play fetch with him.

Then, we headed back upstairs for breakfast and a pupcake.
First bite before I cut it.

His cake is from the "barkery" at a pet boutique here in Hoboken, You Lucky Dog. I bought his cake there last year too and he loved it so much that I knew I had to get a similar one this year.

Naturally, after cake come presents.
Digging into the bag.
And its a sock monkey! Its always a sock monkey, actually. These are his favorite toys and he destroys one every couple months. I let him "pick out" a toy at the pet shop earlier in the week and this is what he pulled out of the bin.
Our birthday boy.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Riley's third year.
This is how he lays. Belly up, just waiting for it to be scratched.

Riley was a sock monkey for Halloween. Clearly, he loved his costume.

I got out of the shower one morning to find this. He clearly believes he is human.

With his buddy from play group, Charlie.

Just home from the groomers, which he desperately needs a trip to now.

Happy 3rd birthday to the sweetest dog in the world!

What I'm Wearing Wednesday v.2: One Jacket 3 Ways

Happy Wednesday, friends! I don't know about you but I am just dying to break out the spring fashion. I guess its because the days are longer since Sunday? Its not quite warm enough here for short sleeves and dresses yet. Luckily, I found the perfect pink canvas jacket at Loft that just screams spring - while still keeping me warm until the spring weather actually arrives. I saw it when shopping with Corey over the weekend for his business trip but wasn't going to shell out the money for it. Then, low and behold the very next day my morning Loft email announced a sale on jackets. Yay!
I totally failed at taking outfit photos for my own linkup over the last week. Oops! I blame it on traveling and the sinus infection I'm currently battling. And prepping for sweet Riley's third birthday. I did have a great time trying on my new blazer, though, and am going to share three ways to style it with you today.
This jacket has the most precious black polka dot lining in the sleeves. So I chose to style it with black and white to accent the polka dots.
Blazer: Loft  Striped tee: Loft  Pants: Banana Republic  Flats: Tory Burch  Monogram necklace (hidden behind my phone): Petal Boutique

Here is more of a springy, pastel look.
Blazer: Loft  Tee: Lilly Pulitzer lanette Pants: Banana Republic  Flats: Cole Haan (with the Nike air soles - so comfy!)  Bubble necklace: Townhouse boutique

Here is more of a date night look that could also be appropriate for those of you who work in an office
Blazer: Loft  Dress: Express circa 2005ish  Bow peep toe heels: Michael Shannon from off-broadway Necklace: J. Crew factory

I love how versatile this blazer is. Which way is your favorite? If you have outfit photos to share, Kerri and I would love it if you would link up below. If not, snap away and we hope you'll join in next week.

Lovely in Lace

I'm so happy that lace is "in" right now. I have always loved it - so feminine and pretty. While I love lace dresses, I am just loving all the lace tops that are out right now! Last year I purchased this lace top from J. Crew:
This is probably my favorite blouse of all time. My hubs was not a happy camper when he saw the shipping invoice. Luckily for you, though, J. Crew factory has it this year in three colors - and for just a fraction of the price. Hurry on over
I considered purchasing both of the other colors and finally decided that the lace detail is so unique I would just stick with my pink.

I shared this lace beauty from loft in last week's What I Wore Wednesday.
This is another favorite of mine. And I just happened to stop into Loft to take a look at a pink blazer when a short sleeve lace top caught my eye.
It doesn't look nearly as cute in this photo as it is in real life. It is super flattering and the lace pattern is so very different from my J. Crew version. Home with me it went. Thank you again, teacher discount.

As usual, Lilly Pulitzer does not disappoint when it comes to lace. I absolutely love the pretty torquoise color of the Poppy and Telyn tops and would love to add either to my closet.

What are your thoughts on all the lace tops out this year? Do you love them as much as I do?
