5 on Friday

Happy Friday, friends. I'm joining in on the fun and linking up with four fabulous ladies to share five things I'm loving today.

one.
I'm loving that Charlotte Restaurant Week begins today. Corey and I have reservations tonight at Carpe Diem and are excited to try this restaurant out for the first time.

two.
I'm loving my HUGE new classroom. I have lots of work to do in it, as you can tell by the fact its completely bare, but I am so excited to get started next week.

three.
I'm loving this meal I prepared last night. Corey and I have been missing the wonderful Italian food from Hoboken. Its been totally bumming me out not to have an Italian deli and grocer on every corner. I mean, fresh mozzarella from the grocery store is just not the same as Italian deli fresh mozzarella. Enter Pasta & Provisions in Charlotte. This little Italian grocery is right around the corner from my Barre studio so I stopped in yesterday and picked up some mozzarella and pomodoro sauce. Last night, we had pasta pomodoro with a caprese salad (fresh basil from my little herb garden), and freshly baked (in my own kitchen) rosemary bread. Yum!

four.
I'm loving the fact that we've had a couple sunny days in Charlotte this week. I even squeezed in some pool time with our sweet neighbor. Unfortunately, rain is pretty much dominating the long-range forecast for the weekend and next week.

five.
I'm loving Panera's frozen mochas. I splurged on one after barre class last Friday and I'd forgotten how good they were. Way better than Starbuck's fraps. I say when you're going to splurge, do it right.

Happy weekend, friends! What are you loving today?

  1. I am so impressed - you haven't been in CLT that long and you've already found Pasta and Provisions! Isn't that place a true delight? Try their foccacia round sometime, it is divine, and their frozen lasagnas are my favorite go-to for a new mom!

  3. I'm a Charlotte newbie too and just found Pasta & Provisions last Friday. Their Friday deal is so good - discounted pomodoro (or marinara) if you bring your own container, and a free pound of pasta. We've got some in the freezer because we went a little overboard and brought a huge container.

  4. Girl you're doing to LOVE Carpe Diem! It's one of our favorites. Connor always orders their {famous} fried chicken and I usually get a vegetarian entree. You can't go wrong!

  5. Can't wait to see how the classroom turns out! And I feel you on the Italian delis...there are so many in my hometown and there's nothing down here! I stock up on things whenever I visit my parents.

  6. YUM, fresh mozzarella!

I wish there was an Italian deli in my neighbourhood... maybe it's for the better though. I seem to have problems when it comes to limiting cheese intake:)

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

  7. Iissed Hoboken for that exact same reason. The slices of pizza and fresh Italian food just can't be compared, but I'm glad you found a spot down south. :)
