The venue is a beautiful golf resort in Charlotte. It is away from the Uptown/Center City so it is a little quieter and more easy to access but still has quite a lot to do. There are a number of restaurants and other hotels within walking distance. Also, there is golf for the guys (and ladies, too!), a beautiful pool to relax by, and a luxurious spa for pre-wedding pampering.
It is a newer building. I'd say no more than fifteen years old. Despite the fact that it is newer, it has a very elegant and traditional feel to it. Gorgeous chandeliers, wall sconces, a marvelous grand staircase. Beautiful patio and terrace for cocktailing. Crown molding. Neutral colors yet a very rich feel. Basically, it is perfect!

There are so many options for delicious foods. They can do buffets, action station dinners, and full seated dinners. They have an in-house pastry chef who does wedding cakes but I can bring my own in from another vender if I choose with no cake-cutting fee!!!
Fifty colors of upgraded linens are available and the gold chivari chairs I'm literally dreaming about are available for rental. I don't need to do this through an outside vender. They can do it all for me. Although, again, I could choose a different vender if I wanted.
There is still quite a bit of ceremony stress...another post on another day. However, I'm feeling very, very good things about this reception venue.
